ESTRID LUTZ (1989, France) Estrid Lutz's works are hybrids of transitional forms, collages, or sculptures made from a variety of resistant, lightweight, and innovative toxic materials such as honeycomb, Kevlar/carbon/fiberglass mixed with epoxy resin, her drawings, images, and photoluminescent powders. Forms of violence, from suffering and war witnessed on screen, mutilations, the feeling of missing someone, or feeling alone, resonate through Estrid's works, both in image and physical form. The ability of the materials to withstand aggression and deconstructive processes reveals the potential resistance of the fibers used in an uncompromising and intuitive human-cyborg relationship.
